Description
Marcia Mentor, who was close friends with Susan de Sola, wrote Presence after Susan's unexpected death in October 2021. With Marcia’s permission, I set this haunting poem to music to honor Susan, finishing in January 2022. A low, almost funereal piano accompaniment opens the song, setting up the dark atmosphere for the story to unfold.
